Unique cliff face-suites with breathtaking views of an African reserve at andBeyond Phinda Rock Lodge

Stretching across more than 70,000 acres, the andBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal encompasses a magnificent tapestry of habitats that harbour an unparalleled diversity of wildlife. As well as bushwalks and game drives, tracking black rhino is a highlight here, but the reserve’s proximity to the coast means safari adventures can also be combined with scuba diving and turtle encounters.

In the south of the reserve, Phinda Rock Lodge’s six suites are dramatically built into a cliff face, affording spectacular views across a deep valley to Leopard Rock. Rough adobe walls, raw timber rafters, and muted colours combine to create delightfully earthy retreats, each with a deep soaking tub, viewing deck, and a plunge pool that appears to be suspended over the precipice.

The same rustic-chic aesthetic continues through the convivial lounge and dining room, and up onto the roof terrace where reclining on oversize cushions to watch fiery African sunsets is not to be missed.
