Babylonstoren

Babylonstoren offers Cape Dutch elegance and farm antiquity

Originally built in 1692, the Babylonstoren farmhouse and fruit grove is nestled in the rolling hills of the Cape Dutch region. Lovingly restored in the last decade, guests will encounter the wonders of Babylon through the property’s amazing gardens. Babylonstoren proffers a choice of thirteen bespoke guest suites, each with their own fully equipped kitchen and view of the gardens. Open floor plans are gracious and spacious, with appointed décor from the world’s top designers. Wake in the morning to panoramic views of the garden or surrounding vineyards. The Farmhouse suites include one-bedroom and access to a private swimming pool and spa facilities. Baths are appointed with marble features, the Italian sofas are nearly as large as the plush king-sized beds. Added luxuries include underfloor heating and endless rows of brimming bookshelves.

The farm to table concept comes to fruition through each lovely meal. Each meal is created at the farm using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. Lunches and dinners may take place at one of the three on-site restaurants. Between Babel, The Greenhouse, and the Garden Spa, there is no wrong choice for a delicious and satisfying meal. Mere steps away from your luxury suite are the Babylonstoren spa, where guests may luxuriate in the Bamboo Treatment area, the hammam, or one of the saunas. Choose to participate in a water ritual or a salt scrub, among many other selections. Visitors who wish to maintain their fitness while on holiday are pleased to find a full-service gymnasium on-site as well.

Babylonstoren provides guests with many opportunities to explore their hundreds of acres, or even venture out into the surrounding villages. With so much to see and do, visitors to the Cape Dutch region will wish to make the hotel their home away from home.
