Castell Son Claret
Castell Son Claret - Inspired by Mediterranean gardens, local heritage and the natural beauty of Mallorca
Castell Son Claret, a 132-hectare privately owned and independently run country hotel
and estate in Mallorca, offers a unique sense of place and belonging. Just a 25-minute drive
from Palma, the property lies at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountain range, nestled
amongst rolling meadows and pristine nature. The former manor house was renovated in 2013,
and now offers guests the choice of 43 suites and rooms, featuring countryside and mountain
views, spacious terraces, charming gardens or a private pool.
A typical day at Castell Son Claret begins as the rising sun starts to warm the castle walls and the aroma of freshly baked bread flows from the hotel’s bakery over the lush gardens and terraces. After a delightful breakfast of local and home-grown produce, take a mindful stroll through the colourful, scented gardens or indulge in activities such as yoga, a hike around the estate’s seven km jogging track or a private tennis lesson.
For those seeking a more relaxing and restorative getaway, Castell Son Claret’s panoramic pool is a tranquil spot to stretch and unwind, while the Bellesa de Claret Spa offers treatments and massages using botanicals from the garden and estate-produced oils. Treatments can be enjoyed in a beautifully appointed treatment room or in a secluded corner of the gardens for a closer connection to nature.
Local and estate-grown produce are at the centre of everything the hotel does, and its restaurant menus are inspired by and gathered from nature. As lunch is served on the terrace of restaurant Olivera, at the heart of the estate, you find dishes such as Burratina - a salad with Burrata and a variety of tomatoes from Castell’s nearby orchard. At sunset, the Michelin starred restaurant, Sa Clastra, offers the perfect opportunity to explore their menu “roots and horizons” by Mallorcan Chef, Jordi Cantó. Each dish has roots in Mallorca and is inspired by cooking techniques and ingredients from around the globe.
From the doors of the Castell, guests can immerse themselves in the countryside beyond the estate, such as exploring the neighbouring UNESCO World Heritage listed Tramuntana mountains and conquering the peak of El Galaxo or taking a digital detox on an E-mountain bike, experiencing curvy turns, historical sites and spectacular views from the Castell to the Mediterranean Sea.
