Evolve Back Gham Dhao Lodge, Kalahari
Evolve Back Gham Dhao Lodge, Kalahari - Classical African style and a relaxed ambience perfect for avid explorers
Evolve Back, one of India’s leading luxury experiential resort chains, launched its first-ever international
property in the Central Kalahari, Botswana, in southern Africa. Known as the ‘Evolve Back Gham Dhao
Lodge’, the name ‘Gham Dhao’ is derived from the local San language and translates to ‘Tracks of the
Lion’ in English. The luxury safari lodge is located on the northern boundary of Botswana's Central
Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR). Situated within its own 11,000-hectare private game reserve, the lodge
offers a quintessential Kalahari experience, including game viewing and personal interaction with the
indigenous San people of the Kalahari.
For their first international project, Evolve Back chose Botswana because, apart from its extraordinary wildlife offerings, it is not overly commercialised and strongly focuses on “high-end, low-volume” tourism. This approach preserves the natural and wild surroundings for which Evolve Back resorts are renowned. At Evolve Back Gham Dhao Lodge, the brand offers incredible immersive experiences for its guests, introducing them to every aspect of the Kalahari—from its famed night skies and unique wildlife to the resident San people and their ancient culture. At Gham Dhao, they reaffirm their core belief of being one with the land while promoting low-impact, high-end tourism on the global stage.
