Hacienda de San Rafael

Hacienda de San Rafael is special with matching service

Andalucia is a sun-baked region on Spain’s southwest coast and it’s here where you will find the Hacienda de San Rafael. Situated between the capital city of the region, Seville to the north, and Jerez with its dancing horses to the south. To the east, perched on the sides of the mountains are the famous white villages. Each year the inhabitants of the villages whitewash their houses so that the contrast between the brilliant white and the riotous colourful flowers is even more noticeable. The region was under Moorish rule from the 8th to 15th centuries and their influences remain in local architecture such as the Alcázar castle in Seville and Granada’s Alhambra palace.

Miles of sandy white beaches invite you to take a romantic stroll, while boat trips to see dolphins and whales can be organised by the staff at Hacienda de San Rafael. The region is a place of contrasts, from alpine mountains and pine forests to arid and barren deserts and irrigated plains that support sub-tropical fruits. The climate is Mediterranean with mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers that facilitate the growth of oranges, popular throughout the region.

The Doñana National Park, an important wetland reserve, lies to the northwest of the Hacienda and attracts hundreds of flocks of breeding birds each year. The endangered Iberian Lynx is also found here as well as the Egyptian Mongoose. You can request a private tour with an experienced guide if you wish.

The Hacienda is situated in the countryside and surrounded by pools and cool shady areas. It’s up to you to decide if you want to relax by the pool or take a picnic and explore.
