Okonjima

Discover the beauty of Africa’s wild cats and relax in an unbelievable atmosphere at Okonjima

Halfway between Windhoek and the Etosha National Park, set against a backdrop of sandstone mountains, lies the Okonjima Nature Reserve. This private reserve is home not only to a family-run lodge but also to the acclaimed AfriCat Foundation, a conservation project dedicated to the protection and preservation of big cats like cheetah and leopard, as well as other predators of the region.

Amongst Okonjima Lodge’s most exclusive accommodations are the fully staffed two-bedroom Bush Suite for four guests, and the African Villa, which sleeps eight. Each is staffed by a host and chef and has a private pool and deck overlooking a watering hole, thatched roofs shading African-chic interiors and vast windows offering panoramic bush views.

Activities can be packed in from sun up to sundown, starting with tracking cheetah on foot in the early morning, followed by self-guided nature trails at noon and game drives with charming and knowledgeable guides in the evening.
